Before Surgery: Once you have made the decision to have surgery you will speak to our patient care coordinator to arrange for a convenient time to schedule a pre-operative visit approximately 2-3 weeks prior to your schedule date of surgery. During this visit you will receive clear instructions on what to do and how to care for yourself after surgery. It will be determined at this time if it is necessary to schedule any pre-operative lab tests. Two – three days prior to your surgery, the surgery center will call you with a specific arrival time.
During Surgery: You have the undivided attention of your surgeon, and your Anesthesia Provider. The nursing staff specializes in facial plastic surgery and is made up of registered nurses and operating room technicians whose main focus is patient care.
Recovery: You will be monitored in the recovery room by a highly qualified registered nurse, The approximate time spent in the recovery room varies depending upon the procedure and each individual. You will be able to return home following your surgery. For your safety you will need a,competent adult to stay with you the first night after surgery. If you don’t have someone to stay with you a member of the staff at NELCSC can arrange to stay with you.
