Question:

Is it possible to get rid of keloid scars? How do you prevent them from occurring again?

Answer:

Keloid scars can be very challenging to get rid of.  Typically, we utilize a laser to remove the majority of the scar, and then allow the area to heal from the inside out.  We utilize steroid injections and follow them very closely over time.  Even in the best circumstances, there are still high rates of recurrence however, we have developed a very excellent approach and have had much success in managing keloid scars.

Question:

What are your thoughts on Smart Laser Liposuction??

Answer:

I saw a new patient today who had laser liposuction and was extremely unhappy with the results.  She complained of lumpiness.  I feel that laser liposuction potentially has greater risk factors than with the traditional methods that I use today.  The reason being is that you have a more predictable outcome with the traditional method than that with laser liposuction or smart lipo.
