Question: I am interested in getting longer-lasting injectable fillers to decrease my nasolabial folds. What type of fillers would work in this area and do you have experience with this filler? Answer: Generally, I would suggest two different fillers that we have. One would be Radiesse which generally lasts about one year. The second one would be Sculptra which is more of a volumizer and not so much of a filler. It is FDA approved and Sculptra can last up to two years. We have over ten years of experience in treatment with Radiesse.

Question: I recently switched from Botox to Restylane. I feel that the results are not lasting as long as they did with Botox. With Restylane it seems that it wears off around four-five months, where the Botox seemed to last a full six months. Is there a difference in the time they last or is just that my body is not adjusting to Restylane as well? Answer: Botox and Restylane are not used inter-changeably. Botox decreases muscle activity and Restylane is a hyaluronic acid that replaces volume loss and fills lines. Botox usually lasts three-four months and Restylane generally lasts six-nine months.

Question: I have vertical wrinkles around my mouth, mostly on my upper lip. I have smoked all my life and now I am seeing the results of this habit. These wrinkles look really bad when I use lipstick. What injectable filler do you recommend for my lips and how long do these last? Answer: Treatment for this area is a two-fold process. First, Botox to decrease the muscle activity which causes the wrinkles and then a filler, such as Juvederm, to fill the hollows and wrinkles. Juvederm usually lasts one year as long as you keep up with the Botox to decrease the activity.

Question: Do you recommend Radiesse as an effective alternative to more invasive facial rejuvenation procedures? Answer: Many times the use of a filler such as Radiesse can be an effective alternative to surgery. It depends on the patient and the aging that is involved.

Question: I am a woman in her mid-50s with deep nasolabial folds. Would Juvederm injections give me a more youthful look? Answer: In the Rejuva Center we evaluate each patient to determine the most appropriate effective treatment. Deep nasolabial folds may require replacing volume in the upper face as well as treatment to the folds with filler.

Question: I would like to get an injectable filler treatment to plump my lips. After the lip injections, are there any restrictions on what you can and cannot eat that day and the day after?. Answer: No, there are no restrictions. We just request that you limit intake of Omega 3 Fish Oil, aspirin and Advil to weeks prior and four days after treatment to decrease the chances of bruising.
