Fellowship Year 2009-2010 Edwin F. Williams, III, M.D., FACS, is a member of the fellowship program of the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (AAFPRS). The AAFPRS fellowship requires a year of specialized facial plastic surgery training under the guidance of an AAFPRS surgeon. Dr. Williams has participated as a fellowship director in the program since 1999 and has fostered the surgical expertise of 10 facial plastic and reconstructive surgeons.
Dr. Timothy Minton grew up in Syracuse, New York. He graduated with honors and received his Bachelor’s degree in Biology from the State University of New York at Binghamton. During his undergraduate years he performed extensive research in Neuroscience of which he received grant funding for, and which led to presentations at national meetings and professional publications. Dr. Minton received his Medical Degree from the State University of New York Upstate Medical University in Syracuse in 2004 and was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honors Society (AOA). Early in medical school, Dr. Minton developed a passion for the intricate anatomy of the head and neck and its associated disease processes. This led him to pursue residency training in Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery, which he completed at the State University of New York Upstate Medical University in Syracuse. During residency, Dr. Minton received training in facial plastic and reconstructive surgery with a specific emphasis the management of patients with facial trauma as well as head and neck cancer reconstructive surgery. It was this experience that allowed him to develop a special interest in facial plastic and reconstructive surgery and pursue further fellowship training in this field.
Dr. Minton has published articles, book chapters, and presented research at national meetings in the field of facial plastic surgery. He plans to continue to advance the field of facial plastic and reconstructive surgery throughout his career with further publications as well as teaching and educational efforts.
Following his fellowship with Dr. Williams, Dr. Minton will dedicate his practice to facial plastic and reconstructive surgery for both children and adults. |
