Radiesse - Hands

To view before and after images of Radiesse treatments of the hands click here.

Administered in the Williams Rejuva Center, Radiesse can provide Dr. Williams' cosmetic patients with the appearance of younger looking hands.

Radiesse is made up of tiny smooth calcium Hydroxyapatite (CaHA) microspheres which form a scaffold on which the body’s own collagen can grow. Treatment to thin hands with accentuated veins, results in an immediate plumping of the skin during the first three months, along with extended correction for one to two years as new tissue regenerates. Good candidates for Radiesse injections of the hands include men and women who are looking to improve the appearance of aging hands. Patients should also be physically healthy and have realistic expectations.

Radiesse treatment of the hands takes about an hour to complete. A local and/or topical anesthetic may be used, after which the Radiesse is injected beneath the skin using a very fine needle. After the procedure, some minor inflammation and swelling can occur, though this usually clears up within two to four days. Patients may also experience some temporary mild discomfort and/or tenderness. Most patients are able to immediately resume their normal activities.

Radiesse is able to improve the obvious signs of aging to the hands and restore a healthy youthful appearance. Results from Radiesse treatments of the hands may require occasional touch-ups and these can be performed as needed. The potential side effects associated with Radiesse tend to be minor and may include side effects like swelling, redness, edema, pain, itching, discoloration and tenderness.

Heart racing and being able to notice your heart beating can be associated with menopause. I would check your hormone levels and replace any deficient hormones and see if the symptoms resolve. Additionally, it would be wise to see your primary care physician to have an EKG performed to make sure there are no additional issues to be dealt with but typically mild symptoms are related to menopause.

Other symptoms of menopause include mood changes, irritability, anxiety, insomnia, hair thinning, osteopenia or osteoporosis, weight gain, libido changes, difficulty sleeping, mood swings, etc.
