Collagen stimulation, Skin Tightening and Acne Scarring

The Smoothbeam laser helps to renew the skin by stimulating collagen production which improves skin texture, tone and smoothness and also aids in improving the appearance of acne scars. Acne scars are the result of the body's inflammatory response during an active acne breakout that form at the site of an injury to the tissue and remain after the tissue repairs itself. The Smoothbeam Laser is a great option for patients that have acne scars and desire non invasive treatment to help reduce their appearance and improve skin clarity and texture. This laser treatment is non-ablative, which does not affect the skin's surface, but rather penetrates directly to the tissue below. Smoothbeam treatments usually take approximately one hour, and require 3-5 treatments for visible results. Numbing cream is applied 30 minutes prior to treatment and it is recommended that patients take 400-600mg of ibuprofen (Advil) one hour before treatment.
