Lines above the lip are a concern for many patients. These are caused by a breakdown of collagen in the skin and over activity in the muscle around the mouth. First, lip lines are treated with Botox to relax the muscle. This does not affect speech or a persons smile. Around 1 week after treatment with Botox, Juvederm can be used to fill in the lines. Juvederm is a Hyaluronic acid that draws in volume effectively smoothing out this area. |
