With todays society focused on fashion trends including tighter cloths which reveal all our imperfections more women are seeking to enhance there bottom end. As we age our skin looses elasticity and volume. Our body parts begin to droop and that includes our buttocks. Dr. Polynice is a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon offers 3 different ways to contour your buttocks.

The first procedure we offer at The Williams Center for Breast and Body Contouring involves liposuction or lipo contouring. This will sculpt your buttocks. By removing fat from your love handles and lower and upper buttocks alone Dr. Polynice may be able to provide you with enough contouring to enhance the portions of your bottom which you desire enhanced. Dr. Polynice may also recommend a fat transfer at the same time to fill and smooth any irregularities in your buttocks. There is no risk that you may reject the fat because it is naturally found in you. This will enhance and augment your buttocks.

If you need a lot of volume to sculpt your buttocks then Dr. Polynice may recommend an implant. This procedure is called an augmentation. Dr. Polynice uses several different types of implants. We will work with you to decide what shape and size is best suited for your body. The implants are inserted through incisions placed in the creases in your lower bottom.

The third procedure we offer to enhance your buttocks includes a lifting procedure. If your buttocks has excess skin, no matter how much you fill in the tissue the excess skin will need to be addressed. Dr. Polynice will excise any excess skin located around the buttocks by performing a traditional buttocks lift. The incision is placed on the upper portion of your buttocks and as he lifts your buttocks the extra skin is removed. Sometimes if there is a small amount of extra skin in the creases of your bottom he can hide the incision there.

Dr. Polynice may recommend any combination of the above. Often patients undergo liposuction and the lifting procedure in conjunction with implants. Risks for all of the above procedures include bleeding, infection, asymmetry, changes in skin sensations and unsightly scarring.

Recovery periods are generally 1-2 weeks until you resume daily activities and 4-6 weeks until you can perform strenuous activities including exercise. You will need someone to stay with you the first night following the out patient surgery because of the after effects of anesthesia. Dr. Polynice places all the sutures internally so that they will not need to be removed. Steri strips are applied but will fall off on their own after 2-3 weeks.
