Since I have been experiencing perimenopause, I have had occasional bouts of rapid heartbeat. It is actually very scary. Is this hormonal and is it anything to be concerned about? Can it be treated with hormone therapy?

Treatment for Bruising Click here to view before and after pictures for bruising treatments Patients at the Williams Rejuva Center are often treated with the Candela Pulse Dye Laser, or VBeam, for rosacea, spider veins and scarring. Based on his extensive experience with Pulse Dye Laser therapy, Dr. Williams has found that the Vbeam can also be an effective treatment to heal bruising which commonly occurs after surgical cosmetic procedures and often after Botox and Radiesse treatments. Normally, bruising can take several days or even weeks to heal, however patients that were treated with the Vbeam laser following surgery found significant to total healing of the bruise within 24- 48 hours. Bruising occurs when red blood cells leak into the skin during surgery. When the laser energy from the Vbeam is applied to the bruised area it is absorbed by hemoglobin that is contained in red blood cells and gives them their color. The VBeam is thought to break down these cells therefore healing the bruise in less time. Based on these findings, Dr. Williams published research paper which was submitted to the annual meeting of the American Society for Laser Medicine in Boston Massachusetts held in April of 2006. Heart racing and being able to notice your heart beating can be associated with menopause. I would check your hormone levels and replace any deficient hormones and see if the symptoms resolve. Additionally, it would be wise to see your primary care physician to have an EKG performed to make sure there are no additional issues to be dealt with but typically mild symptoms are related to menopause.
Are there any hormone related symptoms other than menopause that are frequently treated with bioidentical hormones?
There are many hormone related symptoms that are related to menopause that we do not necessarily think of other than the hot flashes and night sweats. Other symptoms of menopause include mood changes, irritability, anxiety, insomnia, hair thinning, osteopenia or osteoporosis, weight gain, libido changes, difficulty sleeping, mood swings, etc.
