The Candela SmoothBeam laser helps to renew the skin by stimulating collagen production which improves skin texture, tone, smoothness and also aids in improving the appearance of fine lines and scars.

Acne scars are the result of the body's inflammatory response during an active acne breakout that form at the site of an injury to the tissue and remain after the tissue repairs itself. The SmoothBeam Laser is a great option for patients that have acne scars and desire non invasive treatment to help reduce their appearance and improve skin clarity and texture.

SmoothBeam treatments usually take approximately 30 mintues to 1 hour, and require 3-5 treatments for visible results. This laser treatment is non-ablative, which does not affect the skin's surface, but rather penetrates directly to the tissue below. Ice is applied during the course of treatment and it is recommended that patients take 400-600mg of ibuprofen (Advil) one hour before treatment.
