Prevage MD Prevage MD anti-aging treatment contains idebenone 1%, scientifically shown to be one of the most powerful antioxidants available in a skin care product today. Prevage MD protects your skin from environmental stressors known to cause skin aging including UV light, air pollution, ozone, and cigarette smoke. The antioxidative power of Prevage MD anti-aging treatment has been shown to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, as well as skin roughness and dryness, and to even skin tone to restore youthful-looking skin. This product (in prescription strength) is only available through your Plastic Surgeons office. Antioxidants are substances that protect the cells in your body. Environmental stressors like UV light, air pollution, ozone, cigarette smoke, and even oxygen create damaging by-products called free radicals during normal cellular metabolism. Antioxidants (like idebenone, the active ingredient in Prevage MD anti-aging treatment) scavenge these free radicals and bind to them before they cause damage. The result is effective protection from damage to your skin. Some examples of topical antioxidants that are used today include kinetin (used in Kinerase), coenzyme Q10 (used in Q10 Plus Wrinkle Control products from Nivea), lipoic acid (used in N.V. Perricone M.D. Cosmeceuticals), vitamin C, vitamin E (found in many anti-aging products), and now idebenone, one of the most powerful antioxidants available for topical use and the active ingredient in Prevage MD anti-aging treatment. You can start on these medicated creams by having a consultation with our Nurse Practioner at the Williams Rejuva Center, or during a surgical consultation with any of the Physicians at the Williams Center Plastic Surgery Specialists. Remember, because they are prescription strength, they are not available over the counter in stores. (Prevage is available, but not in physician strength - Prevage MD) As a patient you will have the convenience of purchasing you creams both in office or over the phone (creams are mailed out the following day). Prevage MD Patient Instructions: Test Usage of Prevage MD We recommend that you test Prevage MD antioxidant cream before using Prevage MD on a regular basis due to its high potency. Also be aware that patients who are allergic to nickel or hair dye may be allergic to Prevage MD. Apply a small amount of Prevage MD (less than one pump) daily for several days to a small area of skin behind your ear. If any itching, burning, redness or swelling occurs during this trial period, wash the product off and discontinue use. Contact your skin care consultant to discuss your reaction and to receive a refund. If no reactions occur, follow the instructions below. Regular Usage of Prevage MD If you have normal skin sensitivity, after following the test usage instructions and if no reactions are seen, begin using Prevage MD antioxidant cream once a day after cleansing for the first week and if tolerated, twice a day from then on. Then apply your moisturizer and sunscreen following the product. Prevage MD should be used first before any other product. Special Instructions: For use in conjunction with other products: Skin reactions may be more common in individuals who are using multiple skin care products. If you are currently on an aggressive skin care regimen, your skin may become more sensitive to Prevage MD. Start slow and discontinue if your skin can not tolerate it.
