Dr. Steven Daines was born and raised in Southern California. He developed an interest in facial reconstructive surgery at a young age after watching a documentary on humanitarian medical missions in third world countries. After graduating from high school as a National Merit scholar and 1st Team All-League basketball player, Dr. Daines attended Brigham Young University where he obtained a bachelor’s degree in Business Management and graduated Cum Laude.
Dr. Daines continued his studies at the University of California-Irvine School of Medicine where he obtained his M.D. degree and was elected to the distinguished Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honors Society (AOA). As a medical student, Dr. Daines became interested in the intricate anatomy and surgical complexity of the head and neck, leading him to pursue a five-year residency in Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery, which he completed at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City.
During residency, Dr. Daines performed research and published his findings in the medical literature on nasal reconstruction, chronic rhinosinusitis, and psychological considerations in cosmetic facial surgery. His love for facial anatomy, attention to detail, and passion for surgery motivated him to pursue specialized training in Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, a field which he plans to continue advancing throughout his career through research, teaching, and mentoring other surgeons.
Following his fellowship with Dr. Williams, Dr. Daines will dedicate his practice to Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery for both children and adults. Whether his patients’ goals be reconstructive or cosmetic in nature, he is committed to achieving exceptional results for every individual who walks through his door.
