TGIF: EVERYTHING YOU’D WANT TO KNOW ABOUT THE WILLIAMS WEEKEND FACELIFT
After over 20 years as a Board Certified facial plastic and reconstructive surgeon, with experience in performing all types of surgery techniques, including minimally-invasive endoscopic surgery, browlift and the deep plane facelift with liposuction, Dr. Edwin Williams has created a new technique for patients who want minimal downtime, natural results and to beautifully improve their appearance in a natural-looking way.
It’s called The Williams Weekend Facelift
As President of the The American Academy of Facial Plastic Reconstructive Surgeons, Dr. Williams decided to report on the Williams Weekend Facelift at the Academy’s 2016 Aging Face Meeting in Beverly Hills in early March, where he discussed his new technique to top surgeons from around the country. Dr. Williams developed The Weekend Facelift in 2006 and it is a very successful part of his practice. Sutures remain for a week and patients typically are feeling better in a matter of a few days. In reality, patients should rest and stay out of work 3-6 days afterwards. The procedure is meant to focus on the jowls , but not the neck. Patients who have a sagging jowl are the ideal candidate for The Williams Weekend Facelift, which can define, lift and shape the jawline and bring it back to a more youthful place. The procedure is performed under local anesthesia with sedation similar to that of a colonoscopy sleep state. As an out-patient, the Weekend Facelift takes approximately 1-2 hours to perform. These are some of the happiest patients .
“One of the major themes to come out of the AAFPRS conference is the idea that more is not always more when it comes to plastic surgery. By that, I mean that we now have the means, techniques, ability and technology to implement more innovative, less invasive techniques and that can lead to overcompensation or over correction. Even if it’s easier than ever before to make a limp plumper or a cheek more lifted, you still want the result to be natural and subtle,” said Dr. Williams.
The most important thing is to evaluate the patient accurately so that everyone ends up looking and feeling great.
