This man is in his early fifties and decided that he wanted to get rid of the tired look that he had under his eyes. He decided to have a cosmetic surgery procedure called a Lower Lid Blepharoplasty and Fat Contouring. A small amount of bulging fat was removed and fat obtained from the area around his belly button was artistically placed where he had hollowness. Excess skin on his lower lids was removed. This picture (on right) was taken early post operatively and shows the slight incision line on the lower lid that will fade with time.

Upper and Lower Eyelid Blepharoplasty with Fat Transfers accomplished these results.  A tiny incision was made along the crease of the upper eyelid to remove some excess skin which allowed more of a show of the upper lids. The lower eyelids can be improved upon threw a number of different techniques. Dr. Williams specializing in these procedures opted to remove a little fat that was protruding in the wrong area under the eyes and replaced and sculpted the hollow area with fat transfers. “No matter how great my make-up, hair and clothes looked, I always looked tired. To establish a more youthful appearance, Dr. Williams removed small amounts of fat deposits which casued her to have puffiness, a Chemical Peel to help tighten the skin and he did Fat Sculptuing to fill in the deep crevis under her eyes.

Aging of the eyelids really adds to our appearance of looking tired. Take that aging away and WOW! More men are having cosmetic procedures today that ever before. Dr. Williams performed an Upper and Lower Lid Blepharoplasty along with Fat Transfer to the lower lids at his Latham, New York clinic.   With attention to this patient’s left upper eyelid, please notice how in the before picture the upper lid basically rests on the pupil. This is caused from a laxity in the muscle in the upper eyelid that works to hold the eyelid open. An upper lid Blepharoplasty removes excess skin. In order to improve the laxity in the muscle a different procedure to tighten the muscle would have had to be performed, of which the patient decided not to have done.

This patient came to see Dr. Edwin Williams, The Face Specialist in his Latham, New York clinic.  She opted for the Sliver Blepharoplasty procedure.  She knew she had somewhat of a heavy brow also referred to brow ptosis.  She has hazel eyes and felt she looked tired most the time.  As you can see from the photographs she had a little excess skin removed from her upper eyes to help brighten her up.  This procedure can be performed under local anesthesia in the office or patients can have light sedation which is referred to as twilight for those individuals who are anxious. The incision line is hid in the upper eyelid crease.  She shared her experience willingly in hopes these photographs are helpful with those doing their research on this procedure.  

This patient came to see Dr. Williams, The Face Specialist to have a Lower Lid Blepharoplasty and Fat Transfer to the midface at his Latham, New York clinic.   Having excess skin and puffiness removed from your upper eyelids can help you to look brighter and more refreshed. An incision (similar to a long paper cut) was made in the crease of the upper eyelid and excess skin and puffiness was removed. Her eyes have a more youthful appearance. Sutures are removed after one week and pain is controlled with Tylenol.

This is a close up view of the patient's eye lids. Notice how much brighter looking she is in the after picture. Dr. Ediwn Williams removed acess skin and the tightened the muscles. You can now see more of the color of her eyes and her upper eyelids are not so close to her pupil.
