I hate my nose. In profile, it looks like it has been pushed down

Question:

I hate my nose. In profile, it looks like it has been pushed down. I don’t see anybody with a nose like this. Could rhinoplasty pull the tip of the nose up? I don’t mean a ski jump, just turn it into a nice, straight, nose.

Answer:

Rhinoplasty is really just a fancy term for altering the shape of the nose through a surgical procedure. To achieve a natural esthetically pleasing nose, the first step is to see the patient in consultation and have a discussion about goals and expectations and evaluate them on the computerized imager which allows us to show the patient the recommended changes. In many patients who have a nose that is pushed down or drooping, the recommendation would be to bring the tip of the nose up in a more pleasing position. This is best evaluated during the consultation.
