My diet could be better and I don’t get enough exercise

Question:

I just turned 40 last week and I have been feeling a general sense of physical sluggishness and overall blah for a while. My diet could be better and I don’t get enough exercise. Should I consider having a medical detoxification screening?

Answer:

Turning 40 is a big landmark. It reminds us that it really is a time to start taking our health seriously. The general sense of physical sluggishness and overall sensation of feeling “blah” is common, but a poor diet and insufficient exercise are probably the most common reasons for this. I would highly recommend that you really speak with your physician or a nutritionist regarding a healthy diet. This is going to help carry you beautifully through your 40’s where you can actually be even healthier and in better shape than you were in your 20’s. As far as a detoxification program, a safe one is a great way to jump start weight loss and to rid the body of toxins that have built up over time. I usually do a 28-day program incorporating medical foods that help support the liver and kidneys and gastrointestinal function. You want to be very gradual and exclude allergenic foods, processed foods, caffeine and alcohol and focus on a very healthy diet with the supplements. This is wonderful for most everyone to help restore a feeling of health and vitality.
