NEW & IMPROVED MICRONEEDLING AT THE WILLIAMS REJUVA CENTER!
Here at Rejuva Center we are extremely excited about our NEW upgraded Microneedling system!
Microneedling continues to be on of our most popular requested services, and now our patients are having even better results. Our new Microneedling pen is more powerful than ever. This allows us to introduce many more micro-channels and leads to greater improvement of fine lines and wrinkles, enlarged pores, hyperpigmentation, acne scars, stretch marks and skin laxity.
Microneedling works by gently piercing the skin with tiny sterile needles. As the pen travels across the surface of the skin, the needles oscillate in and out producing thousands of controlled injuries. The body responds to the injuries by producing collagen fibers to mend the wounds. Collagen fibers make up the supportive mattress of our skin. When we were young, our skin contains lots of collagen and therefore appears smooth, plump and healthy. As we get older, our collagen fibers break down causing a crepey, loose, uneven appearance. Therefore, to maintain thick, firm and healthy-looking skin, we must stimulate the production of collagen with monthly skin treatments and the application of high quality human growth factors. The goal is to produce collagen at a faster rate than it is being broken down. Collagen is broken down daily by exposure to UV rays, pollution, free radicals and the natural aging process.
Microneedling is a wonderful treatment for all ages and skin types. Our new Microneedling pen allows us to more effectively tailor the treatment to a patient’s specific needs and skin condition. No two Microneedling treatment plans are exactly the same. Needle depth, speed, number of treatments and after care are all tailored to address specific skin type, condition and patients goals. We can also now adjust your treatment plan to accommodate for lifestyle. Not everyone can afford down time. So, we can work with you to get desired results with minimal pain and downtime. Younger patients can both maintain their youthful appearance and or improve the appearance of acne scars, enlarged pores, uneven skin tone and keep monthly breakouts at bay. Older patients can address advanced signs of again and maintain the results achieved by more invasive procedures.
Microneedling is also a very effective treatment for areas on the body. With our new pen, we can now more effectively treat stretch marks, scaring and skin laxity on thighs, stomachs, breast and anywhere else you may be affected.
AUTOMATED MICRONEEDLING HAS ARRIVED AT THE WILLIAMS REJUVA CENTER!
What IS Automated MicroNeedling and What Can It Do For ME?
While dermal rollers have been in use for years, Automated MicroNeedling ( also known as Collagen Induction Therapy or CIT) is an innovative technique for enhancing the skin’s overall appearance by reducing fine lines, wrinkles, acne scarring, red spots and age spots.
How Is The Procedure Done?
The Microneedling pen is comprised of 12 tiny sterile disposable needles, pulsating at a high velocity, to produce micro-injuries to the skin. The skin is first treated with a topical numbing cream, followed by application of a hyaluronic gel to prepare the skin. The Micropen then “glides” along the skin, creating tiny wounds. The skin responds to these injuries by increasing its production of collagen and elastin, resulting in a reduction of fine lines, crepiness, and an increased firmness and “glow” to the skin.
Twelve hours following treatment, a growth factor recovery serum is applied to the skin twice daily for seven days, helping to soothe, promote healing, and enhancing collagen production. Because of the controlled injury to the skin, up to 80% of the product will penetrate the skin, as opposed to the more typical absorption rate of only 7-10% dermal penetration.
Unlike its predecessor, the dermal roller, can also be calibrated to penetrate the skin at varying depths, depending on the issues being addressed through treatment and the desired results. For example, a deeper penetration may be more beneficial on areas with large pores, acne scarring, or those persistent brown spots!
How Does It Feel?
While areas such as the forehead and upper lip are more sensitive than others, in general, treatment is only slightly to moderately uncomfortable and has been described as feeling like light sandpaper being moved across the face. The topical numbing cream applied beforehand and the hyaluronic gel both aide in reducing discomfort and making the treatment more tolerable.
What Is The Duration Of A Typical Treatment?
Treatment takes about 30 minutes to complete and we ask patients to arrive 30 minutes prior to their appointment so we can apply the topical numbing cream well in advance of the actual treatment.
What Are The Benefits?
Most patients will immediately notice more glowing, firmer skin, while the longer-term effects are ongoing increased collagen and elastin production for up to six months. Micro-needling also helps with hyper-and hypo-pigmentation, traumatic and acne scarring, as well as stretch marks.
Is There Any Downtime?
Because no heat is involved, downtime is usually much shorter and patients are less red than those being treated with lasers. Total downtime depends upon the depth the Microneedling pen is set at and how many overlapping passes the provider performs on your skin. And, while each patient’s downtime may vary, most patients will experience some redness immediately following treatment, usually lasting between 1-4 days. Some patients will see a return to their normal skin coloring as soon as 24 hours following treatment.
No make-up or sunscreen should be applied and patients should refrain from exercise or exposure to the sun for 48 hours following treatment. Using the growth factor recovery complex as directed, beginning 12 hours following treatment, will expedite the healing process and result in an enhanced result.
How Soon Will I See Results?
Many patients will notice an immediate change in the overall tone and appearance of the skin, typically describing it as a more glowing, dewy, toned, and refreshed appearance. Results can continue for up to 6 months following treatment as the body continues to produce increased collagen.
How Many Treatments Will I Need?
For most patients, we recommend 4 treatments, spaced about 6-8 weeks apart. For those patients with severe acne scarring, photo-aging, or deep wrinkling, additional treatments may be indicated.
