Cost of a Mommy Makeover?

The cost for a mommy makeover will vary greatly depending on several factors. The total cost typically includes the surgeon’s fee, the operating room fee (or facility fee), and the anesthesia fee.

As far as the surgeon’s fee, this can vary dramatically depending on the location, surgeon’s experience and expertise, and the exact type of procedures being performed. Typically, patients would pay a higher fee if the surgeon has extensive experience and specializes in only breast and body surgery, if the practice is located in places such as Beverly Hills or New York City (vs a rural setting or outside of the US), and if there will be many procedures being done at the same time.

The operating room and anesthesia fees can also vary depending on whether the surgery is performed in a surgery center or a hospital.

Many plastic surgeons offer patient financing plans for mommy makeover surgery, so be sure to ask your surgeon about this.

What Are the Elements of a Mommy Makeover?

01

Breast Augmentation

A woman’s breasts change size and shape throughout a pregnancy and after due to fluctuating hormones and milk production.

Eventually, breasts can appear smaller and deflated, or one may be noticeably larger than the other.

Breast augmentation as part of a mommy makeover adds volume to the breasts to make them more prominent and can bring them into proportion with each other and the rest of the body.

At the Plastic Surgery Center at Williams, patients have a range of implant options available to enhance their breasts. By choosing from silicone, saline, or fat deposits from the patient’s body, patients can select the size, shape, and consistency they want in their breasts.

02

Breast Lift

Sagging, stretched-out skin can cause breasts to point downward on the chest. Pregnancy is one of the most common reasons for breast sagging.

As women experience the hormones of pregnancy, the breast tissue swells, and the glands begin to fill up with breast milk. This fluid intake causes breasts to become heavier and sag.

After childbirth, patients’ breasts may go back to normal, but some women still experience the heaviness and sagging that they did during pregnancy.

A breast lift makes drooping breasts perkier by removing excess tissue and creating a tighter look. A lift as part of a mommy makeover may also involve reducing the size of the areolas.

03

Liposuction

Depending on your BMI, most women gain a recommended amount of 20 to 30 pounds during pregnancy.

Weight gain is a reality for most pregnant women, but many also find that not all fat goes away after the baby arrives.

Extra fat can linger in problem areas such as the stomach, love handles, or even the face. Diet and exercise can lead to weight loss in these areas, but unfortunately, it can be difficult to lose weight in a specific area.

Liposuction reduces the net number of fat cells, making it more difficult to gain weight in treated areas and making it appear as if patients have lost a significant amount of weight.

Improving body contours, liposuction is a surgical solution included in a mommy makeover to loosen fat cells so they can be removed with small tubes (or cannulas) connected to a vacuum aspiration device.

04

Abdominoplasty (Tummy Tuck)

When a baby grows, the rapid gains in size create many physical changes in a woman’s body.

As the baby gets larger throughout pregnancy, this growth can stretch out the mother’s internal abdominal tissues that otherwise hold everything in place. Skin on the belly also stretches out as the “bump” increases.

Once the baby is born, the skin and other tissues may not go back to the way they were before, leaving the stomach loose and sagging.

During a mommy makeover, a tummy tuck tightens the abdomen by joining separated abdominal tissue back together and removing excess skin for a flatter belly.

Performed by breast and body plastic surgeon Dr. Alfredo Lloreda, a tummy tuck during a mommy makeover can tighten and tone skin and muscle, remove excess skin and fat, and achieve the sculpted physique of a patient’s pre-baby body.

05

Other Lifts

Loose skin can be a problem on the body after pregnancy due to drastic weight fluctuations, which is why a range of lifting procedures is available during a mommy makeover.

Patients can choose a buttocks lift, thigh lift, and other body contouring options as needed.

A mommy makeover is fully customized to each patient’s needs and desired surgical goals, whether they want to remove stubborn stomach fat, lift sagging breasts, or a combination of all.

Consultation for Mommy Makeover Surgery

During the plastic surgery consultation process, it’s essential to have a thorough, detailed conversation with the operating surgeon to ensure that the right procedures are chosen for the patient’s surgical goals.

Dr. Lloreda will discuss the patient’s medical history, previous surgeries, and answer all questions about the procedure.

During the initial mommy makeover consultation, Dr. Lloreda uses software that simulates the results of a mommy makeover.

With computer-generated imagery (CGI), patients can get an idea what the expected results will look like on their own bodies. This 3D imaging software shows patients the possibilities of a mommy makeover.

Since a mommy makeover can involve many different combinations of procedures, patients are able to use this software to test which procedures would have the biggest impact on their self-confidence.

Recovering After Mommy Makeover Plastic Surgery

While recovering from mommy makeover plastic surgery, patients should plan to take at least two weeks off from work and avoid strenuous activities for at least two weeks after surgery.

It’s not necessary to stay in bed during this time — at the Plastic Surgery Center at Williams, we encourage patients to complete normal activities to prevent blood clots or other complications.

Get up and walk around the house or around the block, but don’t overdo it — very strenuous physical activities will increase swelling and delay healing.

At the Plastic Surgery Center at Williams, we provide each patient with thorough post-operative surgical instructions to ensure a smooth and speedy recovery, along with amazing, natural results.
