Are you considering a deep plane facelift in Binghamton, NY? This advanced facial rejuvenation procedure is ideal for patients seeking natural-looking, long-lasting results. At the Williams Center in Latham, NY—just a short drive from Binghamton—Dr. Edwin Williams offers one of the most sought-after facelift techniques, trusted by patients across New York and beyond.

What is a Deep Plane Facelift?

A deep plane facelift goes beyond traditional facelift techniques by repositioning the deeper layers of facial tissue beneath the SMAS. This allows for a more comprehensive lift that softens deep nasolabial folds, restores cheek volume, and redefines the jawline—all while avoiding the pulled or “windswept” look.

This technique is considered the gold standard in facial rejuvenation and is performed by only about 5% of facial plastic surgeons nationwide. Dr. Williams is internationally recognized for pioneering this procedure and teaching his technique to surgeons worldwide.

Who is a Good Candidate for Deep Plane Facelift Surgery?

You may be a strong candidate for deep plane facelift surgery if you:

  • Are in good overall health
  • Have sagging in the mid-face or jowls
  • Have deep nasolabial folds or a poorly defined jawline
  • Want natural-looking results that can last 10–12 years
  • Have realistic expectations and a positive mindset about recovery

To maintain optimal results, patients are encouraged to follow a good skincare routine and healthy lifestyle post-surgery.

What to Expect: The Procedure & Recovery

The procedure is performed under general anesthesia and typically takes 3-4 hours. Incisions are strategically placed along the hairline and around the ears for minimal visibility. Dr. Williams lifts and repositions the deeper facial layers, resulting in a revitalized yet natural appearance.

Recovery Timeline:

  • Week 1–2: Swelling and bruising subside; most patients feel comfortable returning to normal activities.
  • Week 3+: Most people can return to work and public-facing roles.
  • 3–6 months: Full healing and final results become visible.

Patients who smoke can expect a slower recovery.
