This patient came to see Dr. Edwin Williams, The Face Specialist in his Latham, New York clinic.  She opted for the Sliver Blepharoplasty procedure.  She knew she had somewhat of a heavy brow also referred to brow ptosis.  She has hazel eyes and felt she looked tired most the time.  As you can see from the photographs she had a little excess skin removed from her upper eyes to help brighten her up.  This procedure can be performed under local anesthesia in the office or patients can have light sedation which is referred to as twilight for those individuals who are anxious. The incision line is hid in the upper eyelid crease.  She shared her experience willingly in hopes these photographs are helpful with those doing their research on this procedure.  

This patient came to see Dr. Williams, The Face Specialist to have a Lower Lid Blepharoplasty and Fat Transfer to the midface at his Latham, New York clinic.   Having excess skin and puffiness removed from your upper eyelids can help you to look brighter and more refreshed. An incision (similar to a long paper cut) was made in the crease of the upper eyelid and excess skin and puffiness was removed. Her eyes have a more youthful appearance. Sutures are removed after one week and pain is controlled with Tylenol. 

This is a middle-aged woman who had been bothered by the severe degree of wrinkling and drooping that formed on the lower part of her face.  She felt that she looked tired and sad and wanted to look younger again.  She did her research which led her to Dr. Edwin Williams at the Williams Center in Latham, New York.   She underwent Full-Face Fat Grafting to the area around her mouth, lips, mid-face, eyes and cheeks in conjunction with a Full-Face Carbon Dioxide Resurfacing also known as the CO2 Laser.  Here she is seen 10 months after her surgicial procedure and is extremely happy with the results.  

This is a 70 year old woman who was tired of the puffiness under her eyes. An upper and lower eyelid blepharoplasty was performed to create this natural, less tired result. Fat transfers to the lower eyelid area and mid-face was also done at the same time. These results shown are one year after having these procedures.

This patient was tired of looking tired. Eyelid surgery is one of the most common surgical procedures performed today. Excess skin and fat were removed and fat transfers were placed under the lower eyelids and along the mid-face (cheekbone). This helped to give her a softer rested appearance.

This 68 year old women decided to have a simple eyelid lift, the Sliver Blepharoplasty, which can be performed in an office setting.  The upper eyelid is first numbed with ice and then a novocaine type medication is used so that our patients feel no pain.  A paper-cut like incision is made in the back crease of the eyelid and then excess skin is removed.  This helps to make patients look brighter and younger.

This patient complained of the appearance under her eyes. The "Sliver Technique" and fat transfers to her lower lids improved the wrinkles under her eyes.

There are 3 stages to facial aging. One is sagging skin, another is the skin color and texture and finally there is loss of volume or fat. Lower eyelid surgery was performed and then fat was transferred from the inner thigh to the lower eyelid and mid-face area to replace the volume that was lost during the aging process.

This patient was tired of the puffiness under her eyes. A small amount of fat was removed under her eyes before adding fat in the sunken areas above her cheeks and her mid-face. A small amount of skin from under her eyes was then also removed. She does not look tired anymore and has now achieved a natural looking, rested, cosmetic surgery result.

This patient complained of looking tired. After having fat transfers to her lower lids, endoscopic browlift, upper eyelid surgery, and a chemical peel to her lower lids, she now looks much younger and brighter.

As you can see in the before picture, this man had loose skin on his upper eyelids and puffiness in his lower eyelids. An upper (Blepharoplasty) eyelid surgical procedure was performed to remove the loose, excess upper eyelid skin. For the puffiness under his eyes, some fat was removed and then fat transfers were done to create a smoother, more youthful look. Notice how the fat transfers filled in the hollowness under his eyes.

Each patient’s treatment to improve the lower eyelid area is customized to their needs. This patient had some puffiness and hollowing under both of her eyes. To address this Dr. Williams made a tiny incision on the inside of the eyelid and removed fat that was causing the puffiness and then took fat from the abdominal area and with that filled in the hallow areas under her eyes and along her upper eyelids addressed at the same time. Typically there is not much discomfort with this procedure and often Tylenol is taken to make the patient comfortable. Anytime fat transfers are performed it lends to a little longer healing time. Generally at the 2 week mark bruising is gone but some swelling may remain. We often are see the results from fat transfer last a number of years.
